Marlene pants are celebrating their comeback in the fashion zone right now and you can see them all over the place in all kind of designs. The famous Hollywood actress Marlene Dietrich was actually the first lady wearing the stylish design in the 1930`s, in times when trousers were a complete no go for women. Not only did she establish a great fashion piece, the style received her name as well and has since then grown to be a famous kind of trousers. They are known for their high and tiny waist cut and their flagging cut at the thighs and ankles.
I am wearing a black and multicolored floral print Marlene style pair of trousers from Fendi featuring a high rise and a concealed fastening in the front with side pocket and appliqué stripes at the sides. These trousers look very fancy with the beautiful print, held in bright and elegant colors. In my top I liked to pick up the bright red of the pants and chose a red cashmere knit pullover by Valentino. I enjoy the combination of fancy Marlene trousers with a sweater, breaking up the outfit and creating an elegant style for a business lunch for example or for a shopping day in the city. You could also wear a short leather jacket with it if it gets a little cooler. My ‚So Kate‘ pumps are from Christian Louboutin, for a longer leg in these long and wide trousers. The purse bag is from Fendi featuring an embossed logo and a press-stud fastening and a gold-tone chain shoulder strap. A cool accessory for this style.
The gold plated cuff is from Gas Bijoux and shines nicely around my arm. The Celine sunglasses have an elegant shape and are a perfect last detail.
Thanks to Marlene Dietrich the Marlene pants are a great alternative to skirts and a great option for an evening or business outfit.
