A shopping basket is a necessary tool everyone knows from everyday life. Chanel however created a glamorous accessory by designing this beautiful shopping basket from their supermarket collection. The designer Karl Lagerfeld is known to create phantastic sceneries for his Chanel fashion shows. During fashion week in Paris he manages to surprise his audience every year again by building amazing phantasy worlds. With the supermarket collection, he branded an entire supermarket with the Chanel logo and staged a normal day routine in the most glamorous way. The Chanel superstore was set up in the walls of the Grand Palais in Paris and the show was made up of famous models shopping Chanel groceries. I personally think it is a very cool idea because everyone can relate to the topic and it makes a routine become a stylish mission.
In this image you can see me carrying pretty flowers in the fancy shopping basket from Chanel. The black and silver basket is very elegant but it is very heavy. You can imagine it is not meant to go shopping, I could hardly carry it down the street. But I always wanted to use this perfect and so unusual accessory for one of my shootings. So here you are. Normally I decorate the shopping basket with flowers or with books and magazines in my flat, it is a piece of art, giving my home another special little Chanel touch.
For now I chose to wear the shopping basket with a fancy and classic outfit. If you also know and love the movie “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” you will see my inspiration. It is a classic Audrey look that always works.
The shirtdress is from Steffen Schraut in a lovely cut that swings with every step. The big collar and the rims of the sleeves are decorated with little shiny stones, giving the dress a little glamour. A shirtdress is so comfy and easy to slip into and in this case it is elegant at the same time. My black and white sling-back pumps from Roger Vivier go wonderfully with the classy outfit. Black and white is always a great combination and I like to style it once in a while. The dress would also look amazing with shiny red pumps or a different eye-catching color. Of course I cannot fit my money and phone into the Chanel shopping basket so I chose to carry a beautiful little handbag from Chanel with a chain pattern in a cross form, matching the chains of the basket. To finish of my Tiffany inspired look I am wearing Audrey sunglasses by Celine in the famous big black design.
Even if this shopping basket by Chanel is not meant for shopping in real life, I just couldn’t resist showing it to you with my fancy outfit – every Chanel lover will understand the dream of a glamorous shopping experience.
