The Art Basel is a highly recognized international art fair that brings together galleries from all over the world, showing and selling their amazing work. Of course it also attracts a great amount of international guests, made up of art spectators, students or simply curious people who want to enjoy the amazing atmosphere. It is a privately owned international art fair that is held annually in Basel, Switzerland, Miami Beach, Florida and in Hong Kong. A great opportunity to visit one of the beautiful cities and to be able to view great art.
This year I enjoyed the great honor to be invited to the Art Basel in Switzerland by the wonderful company La Prairie, who had invited press members from all over the world. I was included as guest with Stefanie Neureuter, Vogue Germanys lovely beauty director. The trip was all about beauty – presenting the experience of a masterpiece remastered, the famous Skin Caviar Luxe Cream. The presentation was accompanied by interesting city tours, a visit to the Art Basel and everything taking place in the most beautiful sceneries.
After arriving in Zurich, Switzerland a driver took us to the stunning Bürgenstock Resort in Lucerne. The panoramic view is magnificent and I loved the elegant design and interior of the Resort – elegance meets nature. A perfect combination!
La Prairie surprised me with a relaxing and wonderful facial after I had settled in and that felt amazing after the trip. The positive resonance speaks for their products – I don’t know how many people came up to me and asked me about that special glow on my skin!
The first evening took place in the hotel with a welcome dinner at the Taverne 1879. It was so great meeting all the lovely people and we were spoilt with a typical and delicious Swiss cheese fondue.
The next morning we left for Basel, where we got a private guided tour through the historic centre. The city is full of wonderful architecture and beautiful art – this is totally my type of city. After that we were invited to a very interesting art talk with the Swiss Institute at Club de Bale between Manon Wertenbroek, Curator Kyla McDonald and Laura McLean-Ferris Curator of the Swiss Institute. La Prairie celebrated the lasting influence of Niki de Saint Phalle’s work through a collaboration with the young Swiss artist Manon Wertenbroek, that sees the creation of exclusive artwork. The artist has created three works that pay tribute to indulgence, aesthetics and technological, cutting-edge techniques – using the striking cobalt blue, the same beautiful tone of La Prairies products and packaging.
It was great to follow the professional outlook on the combination of art and beauty.
After that we had a nice lunch with a beautiful view over the Rhine.
Strengthened we finally headed to the Art Basel. Since I am great fan of art it was great to enjoy a guided tour of Art Basel’s Unlimited sector. After that we met at the Art Basel Collectors Lounge and discovered the La Prairie Pavilion. They had scheduled a press conference between CEO of La Prairie Patrick Rasquinet and Malon Wertenbroek.
After bathing in this great culture and art bath, we headed back to the hotel to get ready for the grand Caviar Dinner. It was such a great pleasure to meet editors from all over the world such as Vogue, Elle, Harper’s Bazaar and Marie Claire just to name a few of them. What a perfect soirée with luxurious Caviar treats, creating a round story to the luxurious ingredients of the La Prairie Luxe Cream.
The next morning after a great breakfast at the Bürgenstock Hotel, there was a Skin Caviar Press Conference delivering details about the Cream and its magnificent effects through rejuvenating ingredients – rich caviar, rare platinum and opulent gold – really a science of art.
The Art Basel was such an inspiring and great place to visit and thanks to the entire program organized so wonderfully by La Prairie it became an unforgettable experience for me – thank you guys for this masterpiece of weekend!
