The Poncho Style is one of my new autumn and winter favorites and you can see it trending all over the place right now. It has something wild and cool about it and in the different combinations and styles you can choose among, allow you to create any kind of look. Ponchos come in many different fabrics and patterns. They can be sporty, wild, elegant or even sexy. As always it is all about the combination and styling around the Poncho – accessories and other fashion items can guide the style direction.
The Poncho Style is a great thing for the temperatures “in between” – when you don’t really need a classic coat. Just throw it over your outfit and you´re dressed in no time – and you will look great. Ponchos just cry for the fun of layering! Underneath you can go for a fun style mix and see what works best with your look. For warmer temperatures a t-shirt can be enough and for cooler days a warm wool sweater works great. Trousers look cool with it but a tight skirt is also a good choice. I just wouldn’t go for a long, wide, flouncing dress – it would simply be too much.
For my Poncho style I chose this amazing long Huan fringed striped wool cape from Isabel Marant. I love the wild charm of this piece – it has this cool ethno touch but it is still very elegant. The subtle earth colors are beautiful and I like to keep the rest of my outfit in calmer tones. Therefore, I chose this oversized grey wool sweater from H&M for example. It keeps me warm and doesn’t take away too much attention. My fun jeans are the white high-rise boyfriend style by Isabel Marant. To hold the top and bottom together I styled a cute black leather belt with white stitches from Isabel Marant as well. I like to tuck the big sweater into the pants so the style doesn’t look too bulky.
For my style mix my super cool black Cowboy boots with a silver tip work perfectly. They are also by the great Isabel Marant and I love to wear them with jeans or short skirts. They hit off every look.
For another little different touch in my styling I am carrying a handwoven basket from Sensistudio. A cute little bag that isn’t strictly meant to wear by the beach. My mirrored sunglasses are from Givenchy and finish this styling.
The Poncho Style is my new thing I love to share with you and I hope I can inspire you to try it out – stay comfy and warm and enjoy the trend.
