Werbung – in cooperation with IWC Schaffhausen
Women and Technology is a huge topic for me, when it comes to watches and cars. Although my schedule is always quite packed with jobs, meetings and fashion shows, when in Berlin for the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, I seize the occasion to make streetstyle shootings with the looks of the new season. I love to show new outfit ideas that inspire and motivate to try out something new.
It all starts with the accessory: while in the past women’s watches were considered decorative accessories or pieces of jewellery, men’s chronographs developed into technological pieces of art. As you already know, I love both art and fine jewellery and yes, I do have a little weakness for technology, so depending on my mood and mission, I can match the respective accessory to my looks following the motto: “The details are not the details; they make the design” (Charles Eames).
Here you can see me wearing my IWC Portofino Chronograph, which complements my classic tweed jacket from Gucci and jeans and white blouse from Talbot Runhof perfectly. The silver frame with the dark blue clock face and watchstrap are both elegant as well as subtle and give the look a sophisticated edge.
The harmonious and timeless design is one thing, but I must admit, that I love it, when a watch is not only beautiful on the outside: Knowing that mechanical precision drives the elaborate Swiss clockwork makes the IWC Portofino Chronograph even more precious.
I couldn’t resist taking these beautiful pictures in front of my Mercedes EQC, because yes, Women and Technology – that’s a perfect match and a huge attraction!
Mercedes Benz Fashion, the namesake of the Berlin Fashion Week, is a big part of the happenings in the buzzing metropolis during that time of the year and luckily again, Mercedes Benz Fashion supported me greatly by giving me my own personalized brand new EQC shuttle and driver to accompany me through this busy and exciting week, making sure I got to all my appointments smoothly and on time.
When gliding soundlessly through the capital, I felt very special for having been provided with that specific ride. It was really a fantastic experience and not only the great comfort made the Mercedes EQC one of my favorite places to be during the MBFW, but also its technological finesse: The advanced power system makes sure, that the battery loads quickly and lasts long, while the performance is amazing. Plus there are nearly 100 sustainable components built in this elegant and futuristic looking car.
Undisturbed by the hectic noises of the streets in the back of my Mercedes Benz Fashion shuttle time seemed to stand still. Only looking down on my IWC Portofino Chronograph, I realized that the days could have had 48 instead of just 24 hours! 😉
Getting back to my previous statement, what do you think about Women and Technology in the fashion context?
