What a PR coup! Valentino’s final presentation for the fairytailed fall/winter collection was crashed by Derek Zoolander and Hansel – formally known as Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson. This unexpected walk off overtook the fashion world with a legendary funny performance as a promotion for their upcoming Zoolander 2 movie. Standing ovations for a massive spectacle on March, 10th at the Jardin des Tuileries! Chapeau Valentino!
Saint Laurent rocked Paris at its phenomenal Fashion Show across the board on March, 9th at Le Carreau du Temple. The ingredients of artistic genius Hedi Slimane matched perfectly: an invitation booklet created by California Artist Jim Shaw, a specially engineered moving runway and a hot gang of lolitas after a night of hard partying. They captured the stage in mini polka dot prom dresses, skintight leather leggings with intarsia furs, capes, men’s wear tweeds, long backless slinky gowns and short asymmetric sheaths with giant bows on the shoulder. Simply awesome!
What a surprise!
An unexpected Sir Paul McCartney at the front row and fake-furs on the catwalk of Stella McCartney’s Paris fashion week show. On March, 9th the convinced vegetarian decided to present her new coats without any fur – next to asymmetric lines, sweetheart necklines and wide-leg trouser suits. McCartney’s latest collection was pleased by celebrities like Mario Testino, Woody Harrelson, Cara and Poppy Delevigne, Kanye West and many more at L’Opera National de Paris.
And they are all at school! Givenchy designer Riccardo Tisci created a great (freak) show at the Lycée Carnot on March, 8th with a maze of chairs in an old grammar school, filled with vintage pinball machines, video games and boom boxes. With the most extravagant make up and hair styles, the models wore collections of black metal nose rings, enormous chandelier earrings and their faces faux-pierced by myriad jewels. A stunning look which calls to mind Spanish gypsies, Flamenco dancers and bullfighters. Olé to Givenchy!
