I think there is no better place to show the French chic than in Paris itself. Not only do I love the beautiful city, but I am totally in love with this special style. The Parisian ladies just know how to dress and they will always look at their best. It is a clean chic, combining classy pieces from beautiful designers. Since Paris is home to many of the worlds most recognized designers, they have it all right in front of them. But its also about understatement, French chic is never over the top but it is stylish in its own kind of way. It allows vintage pieces and cool items, but always keeping it very ladylike.
When I am in Paris, like during my last visit at Fashion Week, I love to sit down in one of the numerous fancy little cafes and just watch the Parisian ladies walking buy. It’s a great inspiration for me and sometimes it’s better than reading a fashion magazine. And during PFW there is so much more inspiration in the city. People from all over the world gather together in order to show what is new or just to present their individual style, like myself.
How to be a Parisian? In this picture I want to show you my latest French chic outfit. It’s made up of a cool A-line leather rocky biker skirt from SET Fashion. I really like the high waist cut and the big belt around it. And the zipper down the middle is another little sexy extra, showing a bit more of the leg. The black and white striped knit jumper is from Zara. It’s a cute piece, a nice contrast to the rocky skirt, but all staying in a harmonic place. My style advice is to tuck the sweaters into the skirt, it shows more of the skirt and gives a slimmer waistline. My boots are the Isabel Marant slouchy boots, which are detailed with chain-trimmed ties that are wrapped around the leg. A super cool boot that works with a rocky or with a casual look, and of course with my French chic.
When the sun goes down in Paris I need a little jacket and I chose a velvet bomber jacket from SET Fashion with a Cosmo application. The velvet fabric is so trendy right now and the style of a bomber jacket in this glamorous material gives the type of jacket an entire new touch.
To stay clean in black and white I took my black boy bag from Chanel. As I said, the look is about understatement and no more color is needed. The different styles in the pieces themselves are enough. The little hat from Chanel finishes of my look in Paris.
French chic is a style I love to wear wherever I am in the world, I love the femininity about it and the elegant mix of beautiful items, try your French chic and enjoy it.
