During the New York Fashion Week I discovered the latest trend in overcoats – the “Trench Cape”. This coat is the fusion of a cape and a trench coat, currently worn by celebrities like Victoria Beckham. In the last years the trenchcoat evolved into an absolute must-have for every woman. The trench cape is a new interpretation of this timeless piece and my favorite piece for this autumn!

For the NYFW I wore the trench cape by SET. Their piece is very stylish and characterized by classic trenchcoat elements such as the shoulder straps. The fabric is very soft and its slim fit is absolutely comfortable. To accent this special piece, I advise to wear skinny or slim jeans with a trench cape. With my wedgie icon fit jeans by Levi’s the cut of the cape is underlined perfectly! The combination of denim and the trench cape is very casual and stylish – I love to wear comfy outfits that look fashionable!

As I wanted to still dress classy that day, I chose to wear Chanel and Gucci with this outfit. The colors of my Chanel pumps and the Gucci Dionysus bag suit the cape’s color very well – and they are timeless and classic pieces for every day. The round sunglasses by Chloé are the perfect accessory for this classy outfit and also an eyecatcher at NYFW.

If you want to dress more contemporary, you can also combine the cape with a turtle neck sweatshirt or overknee boots. I always try out different ways of wearing the same piece – how about you? This trend allows you to experiment, as there are so many ways to wear a trench cape.
