Layer love is true love! Styling a look with layers is something every woman needs to have mastery of. It is a very contemporary topic and a characteristic of many modern designs. High fashion designers, such as Acne Studios or Helmut Lang, create their designs in several lengths, so that every fashionista can style their individual layer look.
The layered style is especially known in combinations of black, grey and white. I like to interpret this fashion trend in a more casual way that is suitable for daily use. The layering is mainly done with tops. I am wearing a simple white shirt by James Perse for the basis. This shirt has a nicely loose cut and is amazing for looks like that!
As a second layer I am wearing my long L’Agence shirtdress with a checked print – but I am using it more like a long thin jacket by not buttoning it up. Also, I am using the belt as a choker; this is a fun detail and super trendy currently. My last top is my leather jacker by Schott NYC in a classic biker look. The short length is perfect for the last layer to underpin the other pieces.
To keep it casual I am wearing my high waist blue jeans by Levis. I adore denim in combination with the colors of the actual shirtdress. They are frayed and ankle-long so that they are perfect to wear with boots – such as my white-heeled Zara boots. They are inspired by the style of the 80s and absolutely fashionable right now.
The red, blue and yellow clutch by Chanel is an eyecatcher that also captured the colors of the L’Agence piece. It is very elegant but also cool and great for casual-chic looks. For the last detailing I am wearing my elegant IWC Pilot’s watch and Ray Ban sunglasses for a cool look.
As you can see layering is not only possible is contemporary and high fashion black and white styles. There are several ways to style this trend for everyday looks – and I adore it!
