Slingback pumps are a timeless classic which is currently experiencing a revival in many different styles and many different ways to style them. There are two main variations of slingback pumps that are most common. One is having a fixed sling and the other one is using straps that you can sling as it suits your style best. I like both variations a lot but personally think that the fixed sling variation is a little more classic than the strappy one that you sling yourself.
For my slingback pumps look I chose a version with straps in orange from THE ATTICO. The size of the heel of this pointed pair of pumps is just right and visually lengthens your legs beautifully. Orange is besides yellow one of my spring 2020 must have colors therefore I did not only choose my slingback pumps for this outfit in this color but also my coat. The one I am wearing is from GIVENCHY and of a very nice woolen optic but yet not too warm for the 1st sunrays that surely this year’s spring will have in stock for us.
To break my orange color scheme a little I wore an amazing pleated silk skirt from VERSACE and a black turtleneck pullover from DOROTHEE SCHUMACHER as part of my slingback pumps look. The skirt by VERSACE is a lovely piece of an amazing fabric and design quality, that also picks up the orange from my shoes and coat and I really like the neon colored pattern. The turtleneck pullover from DOROTHEE SCHUMACHER is an evergreen and needs to be part of every fashionista’s wardrobe. It’s such a versatile garment that you can combine in many different ways no matter if day time casual or night time dress up.
These days the mini and micro back trend is omnipresent and I found two amazing bags in a neon to top my outfit off. The neon punk one is the Tot Shopping Phone bag from BALENCIAGA and the one matching my coat and slingback pumps colorway orange is the Vinile Short bag from MEDEA.
I recently fell in love with another way to style my slingback pumps which I also saw during this February’s PFW quite often. For this styling variations you simply sling the straps of your slingback pumps around your ankles and on top of a rather loosely fitting pair of pants. Like this you create the visual feel of a pair of bloomers which I think is a great look!
No matter which variation of slingback pumps you prefer or how you style them I think they are a great shoe style for this spring to come and can only encourage you sling them straps and conquer the world!
