Puffer jackets are my cold season evergreen. Whenever the days are chilly I love to snuggle up in these warm and comfy wrappers. Whilst giving comfort and warmth puffer jackets are at the same time super versatile, stylish and from my personal point of view never go out of style. Season by season they of course change in shape, length and materials but overall you can’t go wrong with your favorite one.
As puffer jackets come in many shapes with each of them perfectly fitting to different occasions I of course did not shy back from building up a solid puffer jacket collection throughout the years.
Shorter puffer jackets I love to style to rather casual outfits with a sporty touch. They put focus on the waistline and with doing so shape an absolutely amazing silhouette. I have to admit, that I have quite a few short puffer jackets and I also enjoy to wear them late autumn or early spring when the mornings are still a little cold. During the day, you can simply wear them open which is also a super cool look as layering is a thing especially in those seasons.
When long puffer jackets appeared on the fashion dance floor I fell for them immediately. I know it’s maybe a kind of unfashionable association but when I first tried one I felt like being wrapped in a nice fluffy duvet and I still recall this feeling every time I get into one to leave my house on a freezing winter day. I style this kind of puffer jackets to casual outfits as well as when attending more formal occasions. They come in many shapes, colors and materials which I think is simply great as they offer the possibility to keep up with any style desired. Slim line long puffer jackets I wear to more formal looks as they come across very chic. Often this kind of puffer jacket comes with a belt that enhances the waistline and makes it come across even more delicate.
The bulkier ones I love to combine to rather casual looks and it depends on the way I feel that day whether I add a belt to it or not. As this kind of long puffer jackets mostly come without a belt I try to choose my belt matching my accessories. This makes them a super versatile wardrobe essential that you can rely on at all times.
As someone being very eager to live an eco-friendly lifestyle and supporting sustainability I am amazed about the many more sustainable options in terms of puffer jackets are offered on the market and am very happy to see the mind shift towards a more sustainable way of being by the fashion industry.
I hope that I was able to give you some insights on when to wear and how to style puffer jackets and wish you an awesome remaining winter season!
xx Alex
