The BALENCIAGA LE CAGOLE is a reinterpretation of the Motorcycle Bag by designer Nicolas Ghesquière, which he launched for Balenciaga in the 2000s. Even then, the bag was super well received and turned into a total hype because it represented something not seen before. It was breaking with the usual designer bags, because it had something rough and daring about it, and yet it was worn by the chicest of the chic. I can still remember buying my 1st Balenciaga Motorcycle Bag and how much I enjoyed wearing it! You can surely imagine, as the true fashion victim I was back then and still am today my obsession with this design did not end after buying one version of this icon… 😉

Back in the 2000s same as today it is a small bag with a big effect. Demna Gvasalia, current Creative Director of BALENCIAGA, played with the slightly wicked and trashy image of the bag and christened his updated design LE CAGOLE, which in French means, among other things, a vulgar, provocative woman. The BALENCIAGA LE CAGOLE presents itself in a stylish design with rocking rivet details. As the BALENCIAGA LE CAGOLE family is huge the choice which one to pick wasn’t that easy. In the end, I went for the BALENCIAGA LE CAGOLE XS in shiny black leather and styled it two different ways for a true reality check. As if made to add the fashionable crown to any style it stands out and serves as the visual cherry on the cake one way or the other. Therefore, to me it is a great addition to any look no matter if casual or chic, daytime or evening. The mix of casual spirit and luxurious design is what makes BALENCIAGA so unique and is embodied perfectly in the BALENCIAGA LE CAGOLE. I do enjoy the break between luxury and swank and think that the BALENCIAGA LE CAGOLE is a bag that definitely adds that certain kind of edge to any look.
