In Autumn I love to wear casual looks and today I want to tell you a bit more about my current favorites. Sweater weather is totally down my alley and each and every year I can’t wait for the beginning of autumn when it is finally time for very comfortable and cozy yet stylish casual looks again.

This autumn season I feel like casual looks definitely demand for layers… But before talking tops let’s focus on the pants! In terms of pants these days everything is en vogue that matches your personal style and aesthetics. Skinny and wide leg, denims and cotton pants, flowing silhouettes and clear cuts – whatever you like works! I have to admit that this year my personal autumn season casual looks are featuring a lot of wide leg pants and that cotton in muted and earthy tones definitely outperforms the classic denim. Which of course does not necessarily mean that I neglect denim when it comes to casual looks this autumn… 😉

Talking layering I feel that there are three big trends when it comes to casual looks in autumn this year. The 1st is a very classic one where you combine a wool or cashmere jumper and an oversized blazer. For this combination I would recommend to go for a pair of pants with a slim silhouette to put focus on the blazer. I love oversized shapes in blazers lately and absolutely enjoy that this trend is continuing this autumn/winter season. Same goes for pinstripes of course which recently celebrate a revival. For shoes, I feel that a pair of classic loafers is a great choice when it comes to a casual look featuring an oversized blazer. It’s the perfect look for a day downtown meeting friends and family and enjoying the lovely autumn atmosphere.

The 2nd casual look I love this autumn is a combination of a cozy cardigan, a long woolen coat and a pair of wide leg pants. This look to me is absolutely perfects when styled monochrome! To add a feminine cue to this casual look I love to style it with kitten-heel mules in a matching color. This look is a great one to wear for a business meeting as even though it is rather casual it has this certain sophisticated elegance that a business get-together requires.

The 3rd casual look which is also the most fashion forward one takes layering to the next level. It is based on a classic white shirt, combined with a woolen or cashmere sweater and a 2nd woolen or cashmere sweater loosely knotted across the shoulders. I love to wear it with wide leg cotton pants and again feel like this look is great when basing it on pieces featuring the same color family like all different shades of grey. The shirt and shoes match in terms of color and I feel like ballerinas are the perfect footwear for this bold look as they add a bit of softness to its clear lines. I love to wear this kind of look to a casual lunch with my girls!
