Dubai, a city where luxury meets extravagance, played host to my recent six-day retreat at the enchanting One&Only Royal Mirage. Nestled against the glittering backdrop of Dubai, this legendary beachfront oasis proved to be not just a destination but an experience beyond compare.
The One&Only Royal Mirage, a celebration of Arabic design and warm hospitality, unfolds across three distinct environments: „The Palace,“ „Arabian Court,“ and „Residence & Spa.“ The Palace, exuding the glamorous ambiance of ancient Arabia, served as my regal residency. Nestled in The Palace, my Superior Executive Suite became a haven of relaxation and coziness. From the generous layout to the mesmerizing sea views, every detail spoke of luxury and sophistication.
With an array of culinary experiences, the One&Only Royal Mirage places a very special emphasis on indulgence which I as the true foodie I am was very much looking forward to! After checking in and getting comfortable in the One&Only Royal Mirage, my culinary journey began at Trèsind, an innovative dining haven at Arabian Court. Trèsind is renowned for its progressive Indian cuisine. It is a celebration of bold Indian flavours and time-honoured techniques, presented through Chef Himanshu Saini’s modernist lens. The food wasn’t only a beauty to the eye but absolutely delicious!
A Traditional Couple Oriental Hammam experience at The Residence & Spa added an authentic Arabian touch to my day. This experience in the heart of the Hammam consists of warm steam sessions, deep cleansing with traditional black soap, a vigorous ‘Loofah’ body scrubbing, and a light massage with various stretching movements. This has been a wonderful experience and an absolutely perfect start into a great time at One&Only Royal Mirage!
In the evening, my gastronomic adventure continued at Celebrities, where Chef Mauro Colagreco’s creations tantalized my taste buds. Drawing inspiration from the changing seasons, Chef Colagreco brings forth produce in its prime, while the organic waste is returned to the soil for a full-circle effect. What a wonderful approach!
The next day unfolded with a sumptuous breakfast at Olives restaurant, nestled within The Palace of One&Only Royal Mirage. This Mediterranean haven, known for its authenticity, boasted a sky-blue ceiling, slate floors, and whitewashed walls, creating a Riviera coastal café ambiance. The bougainvillea-covered terrace overlooking the palm-shaded pool added to the beauty, setting the stage for an exceptional start to the day.
After a delightful morning, it was time for a tantalizing lunch at The Beach Bar & Grill by Mauro Colagreco. Surrounded by lush gardens and golden sands, this gem showcased vibrant South American cuisine inspired by Chef Mauro’s Argentinian roots. The menu, emphasizing seasonal products and wood fire cooking techniques, left the taste buds dancing with delight.
Following the delectable lunch, a retreat to the adults-only Al Janoob pool at The Palace awaited, offering a serene poolside experience. The day culminated in a spectacular dinner at Eauzone, the beachfront restaurant located at Arabian Court.
With an Asian twist, the menu catered to my love for Asian cuisine. Diners can savor dishes on shaded wooden decks floating over the turquoise pool, surrounded by palm trees – a truly stunning and tranquil setting. This unique dining experience added the perfect finishing touch to a wonderful second day at One&Only Royal Mirage. Grateful for the culinary delights and the serene luxury of the resort, I happily went to sleep with my heart filled with unforgettable moments.
The 3rd day unfurled with a delightful breakfast at Olives, a perfect beginning for an indulgent day at One&Only Royal Mirage. The morning spread was a delightful ensemble, offering everything one could desire and setting the tone for a great day. Transitioning into the day, I found myself at DRIFT, the beach club near Eauzone. The chic retreat boasted an infinity pool, a private beach, and stylish day beds, providing the perfect backdrop for a day of relaxation. The casually chic atmosphere of DRIFT seamlessly blended with the serene surroundings, creating a haven by the poolside to soak up the sun and sea breeze. Lunchtime unfolded at DRIFT Restaurant, where classic dishes from French Provence were served with innovative twists. The flavorsome and fresh lunch, enjoyed in the chic ambiance, marked a perfect break from the poolside relaxation. After a delightful meal, I went back to the sunbeds, capturing the essence of leisure at DRIFT Beach Club.
In the evening, my culinary journey continued with a Moroccan dinner at Tagine. Nestled in an ambiance reminiscent of the Arabian Nights, Tagine enchanted with specially sourced furniture, artifacts, Tadlekt hand-polished walls, and terracotta tiled floors that created the atmosphere of an old home in Marrakech. The authenticity and super flavorful dishes made for an unforgettable Moroccan feast, a culinary adventure that resonated with my love for diverse flavors. The day gracefully concluded at the Palace Courtyard, where I indulged in a selection of Arabic teas and smoked my 1stshisha ever. The flavors of the tea and shisha, combined with the tranquil setting, provided a moment of reflection and relaxation. With gratitude for a great day, I eagerly anticipating more memorable moments in this enchanting retreat.
After starting the following day at my favorite breakfast spot Olives at One&Only Royal Mirage the journey then led me to One&Only The Palm, where the motto of the day was full-time relaxation. Spending the day by the Grand Pool in the comfort of a private cabana was a luxury beyond compare. The air-conditioned cabana, with space for up to two guests, provided the perfect spot to bask in the sun while enjoying the cool, elegant poolside vibes.
Lunch was a culinary escapade at 101 Dining Lounge and Marina, guided by the expertise of Chef Yannick Alléno. Located at the resort’s private marina, this ultra-chic overwater restaurant offered supreme views of the Dubai skyline. As the day reached its zenith at One&Only The Palm, the journey transitioned back to the serene embrace of One&Only Royal Mirage. With another beautiful day etched into the books, the tranquility of the resort provided the perfect backdrop for a peaceful night’s sleep.
After a wonderful breakfast at the Olives the 5th day the Palace Main Pool beckoned, surrounded by lush lawns, palm trees, and sun loungers. It was the epitome of serenity, offering a perfect spot to do nothing but relish the moment. The day was dedicated to the simple joy of enjoying oneself amid the tranquil oasis of The Palace at One&Only Royal Mirage. A highlight of the day was lunch at Esplanade, another gem within The Palace of One&Only Royal Mirage. The atmosphere at Esplanade, coupled with the delectable menu, made for a truly delicious retreat. As the day gracefully drew to a close, I found myself reflecting on the thoughts and experiences that had defined the day. The beauty of Olives, the serenity of the pool, and the culinary delights at Esplanade were all woven into the fabric of a day well spent at this oasis.
After spending another two days at the wonderful One&Only Royal Mirage the time had come to bid farewell to this extraordinary retreat. One&Only Royal Mirage had been more than just a destination; it had been a symphony of Arabian elegance, culinary artistry, and unparalleled relaxation. As I boarded my flight back home to Germany, I carried with me the memories of a regal reverie at One&Only Royal Mirage.
