The Lux Grand Gaube Resort made my last visit to Mauritius unforgettable. It is not only an amazing Hotel in the most beautiful scenery, it is also full of great people that read every wish from your lips – you will never want to leave again.
The amazing Hotel is located close to the village Gaube and only ten minutes away by car from the Grand Bay. It is situated right by the beach in a calm lagoon. I just loved stepping out into the sand the first thing in the morning with a fresh frappé drink from the famous in-house Café Lux bar. They offer locally roasted coffee specialties that for sure made my day start well!
The designer Kelly Hoppen created an electric retro-chic lifestyle in the rooms that transfers a sophisticated yet informal atmosphere – a great combination to make every type of person feel most comfortable.
The ground is surrounded by beautiful tropical gardens with a stunning view over the Northern Coast islets. Perfect for an afternoon stroll and for just enjoying the amazing nature out there. As you know I love to be surrounded by beautiful flowers and they are also a great decoration for taking pictures. And here I had wonderful tropical kinds all over the place.
During my stay I loved to chill out by the beach and for some action I enjoyed countless of the great activities the space offers. I tried out my tennis skills and I must say I really have to work on my backhand 😉
For more relaxation I tested the Spa area, which was also amazing in every treatment they offered. And again, the amazing team around all spaces in the Lux Grand Gaube made every step so comfortable and easy going.
My room was the Romantic Suite – the name says it all – it had a romantic view over the ocean and you could enjoy it from the outside tub on the balcony. The room was really luxurious, offering great design and extravagance on all levels. Sometimes it was really hard to decide where to spend time – every corner of the hotel is so amazing.
Talking about amazing, the food was incredible! You can enjoy live cooking in the different restaurants, offering international specialties from Argentina or even Peru. The Peruvian restaurant is the only one of its kind on the island – and the food is exceptionally good.
The Lux Grand Gaube is a hotel I really want to recommend to you when you are planning to go to Mauritius – the island is close to paradise and the hotel brings you a another step closer – try it out and enjoy the beauty and luxury!
xx Alex
