Recently, I spent some wonderful days at the outstanding THE MAYBOURNE RIVIERA located in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin, France. This wonderful hotel is situated on the spectacular Mediterranean coast and overlooks beautiful Monaco.
The architecture of THE MAYBOURNE RIVIERA is totally special. It is a dazzling block of criss-crossed lines and floor-to-ceiling glass by French architect Jean-Michel Wilmotte.
Even from the beach, some 1,500 feet down, it is an unabashed show-stopper with a modernist architecture that seems to emerge from the cliff… Light, translucent and with almost no break between the interior and the exterior.
A MONUMENT TO ART AND DESIGN
When you enter THE MAYBOURNE RIVIERA the cavernous lobby sets the stage for a hotel that is a monument to art and design. I stayed in the marvelous Grand Riviera Suite where Soft colours and layered textures echo the spectacular panoramic views of the Riviera coastline, Italy and Monaco, framed by floor-to-ceiling windows that bathe the suite in glistening light. A highlight to me was the spacious private terrace. The perfect place to witness sunrise and sunset and spend some calm moments having a coffee in the morning or reading a book during the day. The Grand Riviera Suite, besides a huge bathroom and a bedroom with probably the best view of the Riviera ,features a walk-in wardrobe and a sitting & dining area on a total of 140 sq m.
BREATHTAKING VIEWS ALL DAY LONG
After spending some relaxed time by the panoramic infinity pool it was about time to enjoy the 1st culinary highlight of THE MAYBOURNE RIVIERA – LE 300 BAR. With its floor-to-ceiling windows and the panoramic terrace it is the perfect place to start your evening right. After enjoying a delicious signature cocktail the evening went on with a wonderful dinner at THE RIVIERA RESTAURANT. Mauro Colagreco’s interpretations of the local flavours and traditional dishes is simply unique and a treat for all senses. The perfect end to a perfect 1st day at THE MAYBOURNE RIVIERA.

The next day started with a wonderful in-suite breakfast which offered absolutely everything my breakfast lover heart could have asked for. Paired with the breathtaking view from the Grand Riviera Suite this was the perfect start into the day. The day went on with discovering the hotel and all its amenities, enjoying a light lunch by the pool in the poolside restaurant LA PISCINE which is an amazing place for perfectly-charred pizzas from the statement oven, fresh juices or refreshing cocktails and reading a good book by the pool all afternoon long. The atmosphere is friendly and so relaxed at THE MAYBOURNE RIVIERA and the warm hospitality and hotel’s desire to make every stay the most pleasant can be felt around the clock.

That evening I had the pleasure to have dinner at a very special restaurant located at the very top floor of THE MAYBOURNE RIVIERA . Inspired by Greek mythology and the water constellations of the sky, Mauro Colagreco’s Michelin-starred CETO looks to the traditions of the past while forging ahead. The menu at CETO evolves and follows the rhythm of the water throughout the seasons. To me it was the 1st time ever that I ate dry-aged tuna which was simply delicious and is the signature dish at the CETO. Each dish was to die for and paired with the dreamy view it was an evening to remember and a memory I will cherish long-time. Another perfect end to another perfect day at THE MAYBOURNE RIVIERA.

The heartfelt welcome and wonderful service throughout the whole experience and an outstanding cuisine made my stay nothing but amazing and I will surely return to THE MAYBOURNE RIVIERA rather sooner than later.
