Santorini is the picturesque island I’ve always wanted to see. When I went with my sister to Mykonos, we seized the occasion and took a ferry to get to the legendary and so beautiful little island.
As the weather in August is quite hot and dry we packed a lot of airy dresses for Santorini – perfect for the high temperatures and perfect for the suitcase. I especially love them with floral prints in all possible colors. And given the millions of stairs and steps to climb on the small island, we brought flat summer sandals in abundance. Headbands, scarves and silk squares are also a good idea when it comes to staying in the sun, so that your hair stays neatly in place and you have an extra fashionably eye-catching look detail. I also recommend to bring a pashmina for the evenings, just in case if it should get cold after dusk.
You can also try out a look with many statement hairpins.
Also fancy sunglasses, earrings and necklaces can dress up a simple look and make it suitable for a special lunch or dinner appointment (my dinner date was always my little sister 😉
Whatever outfit or accessories you might choose – it will look stunning in front of the little white houses, blue roofs and ocean views anyway. 🙂
Even though it looks like we’d spent ages on Santorini, we’ve only had three days there. We passed them all in the beautiful village of Oia, where I took all the lovely pictures. To get to see the best places I hired a personal guide for three hours, who took us to all the instagrammable locations in short time. I’ve rarely seen a place where the sunsets are as beautiful as they are on Santorini! The bright white and ocean blue little houses contrast perfectly with the powerful orange, red, yellow and purple shades of the setting sun.
Santorini really is breathtakingly romantic, so next time, I will definitely go there with my beloved and I try to see the rest of the island as well, which should be also amazing! Maybe then better off-season so it would be less crowded and less hot!
