2021 appears to be the year that I fully revamp my apartment. From the moment I started I sparked a flame and now somehow it feels like it’s an all or nothing task which I enjoy to the absolute utmost.

After I have successfully redesigned my living room I now felt like it is time for a little change in my kitchen. When I moved into my apartment I chose dark grey granite for all kitchen countertops which over time started to feel a little too dark to me in comparison to my white kitchen surfaces. And as I am a great fan of marble I decided to finally make the shift to marble kitchen countertops which I perceive as not only super chic but also absolutely timeless.

My partner in crime for this major task was NATURSTEIN MEYER from Langenfeld/Germany whom look back on over 30 years of experience in virgin stones and tiles. They were also the ones who supported me in planning and executing my marble bathroom when I 1st moved in to my apartment so I knew we’d make a great team.

I don’t know if some of you have experience in redesigning your kitchen with materials like marble but I was amazed by the level of customization the whole process includes. The marble plate itself was sourced by NATURSTEINE MEYER in Carrara/Italy. It was then brought to Langenfeld/Germany in its natural condition, shape and size. I then had the great pleasure to visit NATURSTEIN MEYER’s warehouse and pick not only the marble plate that I liked most but also the exact areas out of that marble plate for the kitchen countertops which include my kitchen bar table – the center piece of that room. It was really good fun to look at each marble plate and use sticky tape to simulate the dimensions of each marble piece. As I am a perfectionist by nature I of course examined each plate of marble in the warehouse thoroughly and took my time to make sure I make the absolute right decision as I spend a lot of time in my kitchen which is not only the place where I cook but where I work and spend time with my family and friends.

After what felt like hours of looking at the most beautiful marble and measuring the pieces I finally found the perfect light grey Calacatta marble and the lovely experts from NATURSTEIN MEYER helped me to define the perfect area within that marble plate and make a final decision on the way the plate has to be cut.

The day the new kitchen countertops arrived I was super excited and couldn’t wait to see what my kitchen will look like and the result after installation definitely exceeded my expectations. My kitchen has a completely new look and feel which is light, warm and welcoming and totally what I was looking for. I am super happy with the continuous great support of NATURSTEINE MEYER who offered an outstanding service from 1st contact to the final installation.

I hope you enjoy accompanying me on my apartment make over journey and am looking forward to reporting to you how I am proceeding!
